Pia is currently studying the Nordic Master in Global Music in RAMA Denmark and Sibelius Academy Helsinki.
Bio
Pia Dunne has been performing professionally as a singer, songwriter, composer, arranger and band leader for over fifteen years and has had the pleasure of sharing a stage with such diverse acts as Aslan, Sinead O'Connor, Radio Tarifa, Wally Page, MC Soom T and some of the best jazz musicians in Ireland. Pia has regularly toured the Irish festival circuit and played across Ireland and the UK.
Previous releases include the World Fusion album “Empezon” with Que Pezon! (2008), her Jazz/Soul solo EP “Debut” (2012), two EP releases with Rock Band Straw Gods “Under A Sun” (2015) and “Carnivore” (2016) and the Reggae single “Down Easy” 2014 with Mr Upfull also featuring MC Soom T and Aminah Dastan. Session recording vocal work includes singles with FTP (2004) a Hip Hop/ Funk group, 2 singles with producer Bradley Gillis (2007) Funk/ Jazz, Westland Studios (2013) Gospel and The Weekend Lovers (2015) Funk.
Her solo album with Jazz/Soul/World group Pia Dunne and the Eleusians is currently in post-production and due for release in 2019.
Also due for release in 2019, is the single “The Sound of The Sea”, written by Flamenco Guitarist Juan Jose Manzano with vocals by Dunne and an EP from The Mammoth Bana Ceoil (Irish and English Traditional Folk).
The Straw Gods
The IndieRock band Strawgods was set up in 2014 and released their first EP Under A Sun in Jan 2015. The Strawgods second EP Carnivore was released in 2017. See http://www.thestrawgods.com/

Que Pezon!
From 2001-2010 Pia fronted the world music fusion band Que Pezon!, collaborating with Spanish guitarist Jose Dominguez to compose the music for this “exciting Dublin band"(The Irish Times ). They released their album Empezon in 2008.

One Off Musical Projects
In 2015 Pia composed a piece for the Lights Out Project. A once-off programme of works for a small group of participants to be played in complete darkness in a small wooden hut on the island Eilean Shona in Loch Moidart on the west coast of Scotland. This listening event was part of a wider project run over the weekend of 20-23 November 2015 and explored the nature of ‘islandness’ and sensory human experiences.
